4.4 Strategy

The Priority (Sub-Programme) will support the achievement of these objectives through:

  • improving the transport infrastructure to provide easier access to employment, training and social opportunities for the region’s inhabitants and, offering existing firms and potential investors in the region better access to the national road network and, thus, to domestic and foreign markets; and
  • supporting the establishment of high value-added information and services sector enterprises in the region by providing access to advanced communications and e-commerce/digital infrastructure and services and improving the quality of the environmental, cultural, social and recreational infrastructure so as to enhance the attractiveness of the region as a place in which to live or work or establish an enterprise, or to visit.
