Atlantic Area First Level Control Seminar, The BMW Regional Assembly hosted a very successful all island two day Financial Management workshop for Irish Partners participating in approved EU Interreg Atlantic Area Projects. The First Level Control seminar brought together over 30 participants who received practical training on the on-line expenditure claims system. The event took place at the IT Suite of Westmeath Co. Council.
Chaired by Assembly Director Gerry Finn, the programme for the workshop included overview presentations from Michael O’ Brien, BMW Regional Assembly and Teresa Lennon, Special EU Programmes Body who outlined details of Irish and Northern Irish Participation in the Atlantic Area Programme following two public calls for projects. Detailed presentations on the First level Control Procedures for Ireland and Northern Ireland followed which included a detailed account of Irish National procedures and requirements from Joe Flynn, First Level Controller with the BMW Regional Assembly.
Mr Jean Luc Fres, Head of the Atlantic Area Joint Technical Secretariat in Porto delivered a practical training workshop on the operation and functionality of the online expenditure claims system which included a practical demonstration of the online Programme Execution Report. The event was highly interactive with participant questions and answers on the workings of the system.
