Gateways and Hub Towns Development Fund - Tuam

Contracts in relation to the Main Drainage Project have been signed with the contractor appointed and the Main Drainage Contract is currently underway and the works in the Tuam Hub fund programme are being implemented in tandem with this

1. the undergrounding of cables is 46% complete  and
2. the restoration of streets to incorporate recommendations of the Access Audit carried out for the Town will take place as the Main Drainage work is being completed

Works on improving the energy efficiency of community/public buildings including the Mall Theatre, The Community Education Centre and Gym and the Community House have been completed. The installation of Smart Technologies in the library is completed.

The work at the Tuam Pool and The Mill Complex are at advanced design/tendering stage. The Design for refurbishment of the shambles has passed through Part VIII planning for urban renewal of town centre. The Programme of work for physical refurbishment of local authority residential areas is being finalised. 

Public lighting and CCTV are to be implemented in 2011.
