Gerry Finn - Director:
Gerry Finn commenced as Director with the Regional Assembly in 2000. He is responsible for the overall management and direction of the Assembly and the Regional Operational Programme. Mr Finn had responsibility for managing the first Regional Operational Programmes under the National Development Plan 2000-2006 and the Assembly has been designated by the Government to be the Managing Authority for the BMW Regional Operational Programme 2007 – 2013. As Director of the Assembly Mr Finn is also involved in the Peace III Ireland/Northern Ireland Programme and is the contact point for the EU Interreg Transnational Programmes, Northern Periphery and Atlantic Area. Mr. Finn holds a Masters in Rural Development from the National University of Ireland, Galway.

Kieran Moylan - Assistant Director:
Kieran commenced with the Assembly in June 2000. He is primarily responsible for the management and monitoring of the Regional Operational Programmes. His responsibilities also extend to supporting the Finance unit, the Policy and Research Officer and the Corporate Affairs Unit and he is the secretary to the Regional OP Monitoring Committee. Kieran also represents the Assembly on several external bodies.

Barry Guckian - Programme Executive - Monitoring and IT:
Barry has worked with the Regional Assembly since July 2001. He is responsible for a number of functions relating to the management and implementation of the Operational Programme and is also responsible for the collection and provision of data relating to financial and physical indicators. Barry represents the Assembly on a number of co-ordinating committees. He is also responsible for the IT Function and is the Website Master.

Gerry Lavelle - Programme Executive - Corporate Affairs and Human Resources:
Gerry commenced with the Assembly in October 2000. His main areas of responsibility include managing the Assembly's Corporate Affairs and Human Resources. He is primarily responsible for the recruitment, selection and training of staff and is also the designated officer under the Communications Action Plan to ensure compliance with the Information and Publicity requirements of the Regional Operational Programme 2007-2013.

Michael McCauley - Programme Executive - Finance:
In April 2001, Michael commenced with the Assembly having spent many years working in the local authority sector. In his current role he has overall responsibility for the Finance Unit in the Assembly structure. This involves managing the Assembly’s own internal finances in addition to having responsibility for the overall financial management and control of all co-funded expenditure in the BMW Regional Operational Programme.

Adrian O' Donoghue - Policy and Research Officer:
Adrian commenced with the Assembly in July 2007. His main duties include the preparation of policy submissions to EU, National and Regional Policy documents and strategies. He is also responsible for developing and conducting research on policy issues facing the BMW Region as well as monitoring the factors contributing to regional disparities through analysis of performance indicator data.

Michael O Brien - Programme Liaison Officer - Interreg Programmes:
Michael commenced employment with the Regional Assembly in June 2002 and is responsible for managing EU programmes within the region. He is the Programme Manager for a €1.8m EU Regional Programme of Innovative Actions which provides supports for academic/industry research collaboration and technology transfer initiatives within the region. He also acts as national contact point for two Interreg Transnational programmes – the Atlantic Area and Northern Periphery Programmes. In this context, he is responsible for assisting project promoters in developing projects and partnerships in addition to disseminating information on both programmes in Ireland.

Joe Flynn - Auditor - Finance:
Joe's main duties include examining systems and procedures in operation at all levels in the system and making recommendations for improvements where appropriate. Carrying out on-site inspections of payment claims throughout the region. Offering advice and making presentations to final beneficiaries and implementing bodies in regard to proper financial management and control procedures.

Gerardine Lafferty - Staff Officer (Acting) - Finance:
Gerardine joined the Regional Assembly in June 2001. Her responsibilities include on-site pre-closure visits to Final Beneficiaries and Implementing Departments where required, organization of the Annual Financial Seminars, co-ordination, documentation and submission of Irregularity Reports from Final Beneficiaries, preparation of Futurreg grant claims to end December 2007, follow up on all previous audit findings and desk-based checking of B2 forms, Innovative Actions grant claims and Interreg grant claims.

Catherine Burke - Assistant Staff Officer - Finance:
Catherine Burke joined the Assembly in June 2001 in a permanent capacity. Catherine is ultimately responsible for maintaining the Assembly’s accounting records, which include travel expenses for both members and staff, maintaining a database recording all journeys undertaken in compliance with FOI, recoupment of expenses from Territorial Co-operation programmes, recoupment of expenses incurred under the Technical Assistance measure of the OP, preparation of Annual Estimates of Expenses and Financial Statement of Accounts, and ordering all stationery and office equipment. Commencing in 2008, Catherine will also assume responsibility for operating a payroll system for all Assembly staff.

Pauline Grennan - Assistant Staff Officer (Acting) - Corporate Affairs and Human Resources:
Pauline joined the BMW Regional Assembly in January 2003.
She is responsible for the provision of administrative and secretarial support to the Programme Executive in Corporate Affairs.
Her main duties include organising the Regional Assembly’s Annual Conference, compiling the BMW Annual Report, arranging Assembly Meetings, taking minutes and booking conferences for Assembly members. Other duties include, organising staff training courses, preparation of Information and Publicity reports, requesting tenders/quotes for the design and print of various reports, dealing with the purchase of promotional items and organising Assembly Chamber bookings.

Marie Moriarty - Clerical Officer:
Marie was appointed in a permanent capacity with the Regional Assembly in April 2001. Marie provides administrative support to the Director and Assistant Director including day to day administration activities of the Assembly. She also provides administrative support to the Regional and Rural Affairs Sub-Committee.

Fiona Flynn - Clerical Officer - Monitoring and IT:
Fiona was appointed in a permanent capacity with the Regional Assembly in January 2003. She is responsible for providing administrative support to the Monitoring Unit in areas which include compiling various reports and co-ordinating all aspects of the Annual Monitoring Committee Meeting. Fiona also updates and maintains the content of this web site.

Jean Towey - Clerical Officer - Reception:
Jean took up the position of clerical officer with the Assembly in August 2007. Jean is the first point of contact for the Assembly and deals with all incoming calls ranging from internal customers to queries from the general public. Her duties also include the provision of secretarial and administration support throughout the Assembly when required. She is also responsible for monitoring any publicity – locally and nationally - received by the BMW Regional Assembly.
